Mail Utilities loses message body on replies and forwards

Symptoms

An incorrectly formed disclaimer can lose the original message when replying to or forwarding a message. The recipient of the message gets just the disclaimer and the new message, but the remainder of the message is lost.

Cause

The disclaimer template does not have the '{Original Email Below Reply Separator}' field present.

Resolution

Ensure that the '{Original Email Below Reply Separator}' is present somewhere in your disclaimer.

More Information

Exclaimer splits messages into 3 parts.
  1. The message part above the reply separator
  2. The reply separator itself
  3. The remainder of the message below the reply separator
These parts are all available for use in the disclaimer and can be placed in style blocks to enhance the presentation of emails.
Exclaimer will replace the field {Original Email Above Reply Separator} with the message content from part 1 above, the field {Reply Separator} with the message content from part 2 above and the field {Original Email Below Reply Separator} with the message content from part 3 above.
An example of this use can be found in the Outgoing Style 2 with Reply template which can be found by clicking on the Insert From Template... button and viewing the Outgoing Style 2 with Reply template.
