Unable to open signature template for editing

Scenario

You require to amend the signature that is appending to messages. Upon trying to open the signature template for editing the following error is displayed on screen.

Error: Unable to open [Template Name]. Template is currently being edited by [DOMAIN\USER] on [COMPUTER NAME]

Solution

To resolve this problem:

1. Navigate to the template library folder (default C:\ProgramData\Exclaimer Ltd\Mail Disclaimers\Template Library1).
2. Locate the file with a .lock extension.
3. Delete or move the file from the template library directory.
