Why am I getting a temp file error in Signature Manager Exchange Edition?
You observe the following error in the Event Log:
“Information: System.IO.IOException: The file exists.”
This appears when the temp files have reached a certain number e.g ~65K.
There can be a few things that cause this, but generally they simply tend to build up over time.
To resolve the error you will need to delete the temp files from the following locations. The files used by Signature Manager Exchange Edition will be called tmpXXXX.tmp:
- C:\Windows\Temp
- C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Local\Temp
There may also be some in your own %temp% directory.
Once the files are deleted, try to save the console again.
